We are surrounded by history carved into stone by the passage of time.
The house was built in the 15th century by Mrs. Urraca de Moscoso (Countess of Altamira) and her second husband Pedro de Osorio. The coat of arms bears the head of the wolf of the Moscosos and the symbols of the Castro family
The Altamira family suffered a financial crisis in the 19th century which forced them to sell the castle of Vimianzo and this beautiful house to Ramon Martelo Nuñez. His son sold the property to the Domenc family who three generations later passed it on to Ernesto Pons before it finally came into the hands of its current owner, Calixto Añon Vazquez
Amongst the beauty of the Costa da Morte you can also enjoy this dwelling which is only a few metres away from the beach of Laxe. In this tavern you can try a wide variety of Spanish and Galician wines together with a wide variety of tapas
The restaurant has at its disposal two rooms with different atmospheres. One is surrounded by the natural stone setting of the dwelling and the other overlooks the beach. Here the owners select and prepare the best fish and seafood fresh from the Galician coast. That is not to say that they forget about that other great Galician product: veal. All of these can be finished off with a delightful homemade dessert
All of this when joined together with the attention to detail of the staff makes the Casa do Arco an obligatory stop on any visit to the famous Costa da Morte
